Bike Brands

Finding the right bike is a matter of selecting one of a number of brands for the invididual that doesn't want to build their own bike. This section deals with brand name bikes from Schwinn and Huffy to My Little Pony and Disney Princess bikes.

Cannondale Bikes

Cannondale has been a major force in the world of bikes and the manufacturing thereof since the 1980s. Their first foray into aluminum frames led them to a number of interesting develops, of most recent accord is the "Lefty", a fork with only 1 side.

Disney Princess Bikes

Any young girl would be proud to sport a new, rad Disney Princess bike down the street. The bike has a white seat, tires, and grips across a dark purple steel frame. Covered in pictures of the Disney princesses as well as sporting a fancy set of mylar streamers on the handles.

Fuji Bikes

Fuji has been a popular bike in the world market for years, and originally was manufacturered in Japan. Today, they are all manufactured out of Philidelphia and produce bikes for everyone from children and police officers to professional cyclists.

Giatex has been building a name for itself for years in the folding bicycle market. Usually, folding (or stretch) bicycles have been a niche market, but Giatex claims to bring quality bicycle parts and innovation to bring stretch bikes to the common person.

Huffy Bikes

In recent years, Huffy has been having a lot of trouble with their bikes and their business at large. In October of 2004, the business actually announced they were filing for bankruptcy. They still provide incredibly affordable children's bikes.

Mongoose Bikes

Mongoose is a brand name of performance bicycles that is marketed through major retailers en masse. They are sold through Pacific Cycles, which is owned by Dorel along with Murray and few other bicycles.

Murray Bikes

Murray has been manufacturing cheap and affordable bikes to be sold out of department stores for many years now. However, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2004 and was acquired by Briggs & Stratton, primarily for their mower and lawn equipment business.

My Little Pony Bikes

My Little Pony bikes are a favorite with girls obsessed over collectible horse toys all over the globe. The bikes are actually manufactured through Kent bicycles, but each one is distinctly pink, has training wheels, and even a dandy set of mylar streamers.

Raleigh Bikes

Anyone who has lived through the early 1970s has probably seen the absurdity that is Raleigh bikes. Their chopper style was the must have ride of many children during 19743 through 1974, with its high handlebars swept back in the style of Easy Rider fame.

Schwinn Bikes

Schwinn bikes used to be valued for their brand association, but cyclists becoming more sophisticated led to a decrease in brand reliance and the eventual bankruptcy of the company. Component manufacturers like Shimano have really devalued the Schwinn name.

Trek Bikes

Trek bikes is well known for their professional quality bikes throughout the world. The company was involved with Lance Armstrong during the manufacturering of one of his bikes, in a round-table of companies similar to how F1 cars are built.

West Coast Choppers Bicycles

West Coast Choppers is not only a company that is popular with adults, but with kids as well, which means that bicycles branded after them is no surprise. Kids feel awesome going down to their friends house in a tough-looking West Coast Choppers bike.
